Candy Boxes In Retail Industry:

Retail involves a process in which goods or services are sold to a customer by different means of distribution. The sole purpose of opting different means is to earn maximum profits possible. Retail business dates back in history when humans used to exchange goods with each other known as a barter system. Soon when the currency was introduced, people started selling products through different means. In this modern era, business strategists use many different tools like selecting a target market, identifying the pros of the product, getting complete knowledge about the market, planning marketing tactics to involve customers through the whole process and attract them towards the product and the brand in general.

Due to advancement in technologies, it is now easier to reach to maximum people without putting in a lot of effort on the logistics. Machines make it easier but also make it challenging to be a unique brand from others. Marketers are now reaching to multiple markets around the globe which include both brick and mortar and online selling. Retailing support services also includes the provision of advisory services, stylist services, credit, delivery services, and various other supporting services.

While discussing retail industry in general, it would be quite exciting to learn how this industry grew as time passed. Here is an overview of five remarkable periods in the recent history of retail (over the past 100 years or so).

1. Local culture – the Corner Store: 1900s:

In 1900s local stores dominated the retail market. There were many of them in each corner of the globe. There were some catalogs for marketing purposes but the real charm was a walk in an experience where customers visit the store personally to buy products. The variety was lesser and customers didn’t have a lot to take back home.

2.  Mass modernization culture – Department store: 1900 – 1940:

This comes the era when sources of transportation hit the streets. By 1940s, there were tons of vehicles in the USA especially and it was easier for people to travel from one place to the other. At the same time, in-home refrigeration allowed shoppers to stock more. Retail moved from local corner stores to general merchants and department stores.

3. Suburban culture – Mall: 1950s - 1970s

The population boom and the explosion of suburbia led to open air malls, strip centers, and mass retailers. This was the time of the true mall, as well as the heyday of the TV ad.

4. Consolidation culture – Big Box stores: 1970 – 1990:

By 1970s there was an explosion of big-box stores in the main areas. There were a bunch of value players, club stores, and category killers. This turned into many customers going from small local stores to bigger merchants.

5. Digital culture – E-commerce: 1990 – 2013:

The most advanced culture of all times is the digital culture through which the world is still going through. In 1980 almost 7 of the 8 largest retailers in the USA had fallen from this position they were either bankrupt, acquired or irrelevant. This had shown fundamental changes in how people shop that we’re still living with today.

Packaging is considered foremost when it comes to retail industry. When we talk about the retail industry, we talk in terms of bulk quantities. When the bulk quantities are placed on the racks of the shelves of a retail store it needs to be different from the bulk of some other brand. This philosophy helps a lot in building up a brand. The only key tool towards being unique is packaging.

While being different in packaging, there is the hype of customized packaging these days. Creating personalized packaging according to the requirements of the product and the company is the key to success. There are many companies in the market who provide customized packaging solutions. One of the best companies is “The Custom Boxes”. They have the best variety in the market when it comes to customized packaging. They deal with all sorts of raw materials that are perfect for creating a perfect package for your product. Consider them while choosing the best for your product and they will satisfy all your packaging needs.
